The Electronics and Instrumentation engineering department established in the year 1994, has been accredited by NBA Tier – I, New Delhi and Institute of Engineers (India), Kolkata. Recognized as Research Centre by Anna University Chennai. Supported by 17 qualified faculty members, among them 5 holds doctoral degree and 7 were pursuing Ph.D. Two funded research projects worth Rs.36 Lakhs from BRNS-IGCAR & ICMR were completed. MSM and DST’S NSTE have sanctioned Rs.10 Lakhs for two student’s projects through NEC Business Incubation and NEC New Gen IEDC.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with M/s. IELEC Systems, Tirunelveli for training students. Students won Best Project Award in Techno Fair (District Science Centre) – 2016 and awarded by INAE and One PG project have been nominated for INAE award during 2017-18. Measurements and Instrumentation Laboratory was Upgraded through AICTE-MODROBS scheme in 2013-2014 for Rs.6 Lakhs. Our Department is equipped with smart class room with audio system. Our department alumni have been providing their academic administrative and research excellence in many organization line IGCAR, KKNPP, Emerson, Yokogawa, Sterlite, Saipem India, Wipro etc.
The laboratories are equipped with a state of art Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), control valve with positioners, Distributed Control System(DCS), Simulation Softwares in the field of Analog and Digital Electronics to give industrial exposure to the students.
1.Recognized as an Approved Research Center to carry out research work leading to the Ph.D degree by Anna University.
2.Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) – Tier 1 (Washington Accord),
New Delhi and IE (India), Kolkata.
3.Faculty members have obtained their UG/PG degrees from reputed institutions of India and they are stable.
4.Well-equipped laboratories to develop innovative projects and research works .
5.Career development Activities for students are carried out through GATE coaching, Special Interest Group (SIG) and PLASTAN (PLAcement of Students Through Alumni Network), EIE-Association and through student chapters of all Professional societies.
6.In order to enhance practical knowledge of the students they are encouraged to visit different industries for their courses.
7.Industrial experts are invited to deliver lectures on “current industrial trends” to the students.
8.Students are encouraged and funded(if eligible) to do Societal Projects.
9.Wide spread Alumni network in industries like IGCAR, KKNP, Emerson, Yokogawa, Sterlite, Saipem India,etc., Academia and Indian Civil Services.
