Welcome to Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell)

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) has been started to create job providers rather than job seekers among our students with the following objectives and activities.

Objectives of Entrepreneurship Development Cell:

  • To transform entrepreneurship aspiring students as employment creators immediately after their graduation.
  • To promote and maintain the spirit of Entrepreneurship amongst our college students.
  • To provide a platform to convert the students innovative ideas into a viable enterprises.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell has been established in our Institute on 22.1.15 with 9 faculty members in charges for their respective Engineering disciplines aspiring students for promoting entrepreneurial activities.

About NEC-NewGen IEDC

In view of promoting and supporting student start-ups in science and technology institutions, the Government of India has introduced a scheme, “New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre” (NewGen IEDC). The NewGen IED centre will function for five academic years to develop 85 numbers students’ projects. Based on the infrastructure facilities and intellectual potential of the faculties, S&T institutions will be awarded by this scheme along with a total grant of Rs.2,87,50,000/-. The budget includes Rs.25,00,000/- as a one-time initial establishment amount and Rs.10,00,000/- as an annual recurring amount to establish and function the centre. Further, each student’s project will be funded with Rs.2,50,000/- for developing a commercially viable product.

The NewGen IEDC of our institution was established in the academic year 2017-18, with the initial establishment grant of Rs. 25,00,000/-, recurring expenses grant of Rs.10,00,000/- and product development grant of Rs.25,00,000/- to develop 15 number of commercially viable students’ projects. The 2nd year grant of Rs. 37,50,000/- & recurring grant Rs.10,00,000/- for developing 15 student projects is released during the year 2018-19 and the 3rd year grant of Rs.50,00,000/- & the recurring grant Rs. 10,00,000/- for developing 20 students’ projects is released during the year 2019-20. The 4th year grant for executing the product development of 20 students’ projects is about to be released from the government of India shortly. So far, 45 numbers of commercially viable products have been developed by various department student batches through the NewGen IEDC funding, and the 40 numbers of products are yet to be developed.
