Objectives

  • To create practical knowledge about fundamentals of analog and digital electronics.
  • To motivate the students to practice with some real-time application oriented projects from their third semester onwards.
  • To create and enhance the students’ knowledge in the field of embedded system technology.
  • To equip the students to participate some project expo conducting in various inter and intra college events.

Facilities

  • The laboratory is equipped with various sensors modules, microcontroller development boards, robotics based components and consumables.
  • The laboratory is also equipped with the recent microcontrollers such as PIC, Arduino, Raspberri Pi and Internet Of Things [IOT], GSM, GPS modules etc
  • The student can make use of components, sensors, leaning kits and equipment from the forum for practicing their real-time projects

ACTIVITIES 2023-24

For second-year EEE students, an introduction to the MINI PROJECT forum was held on August 19,2023. The session addressed the forum's objective and available resources. The idea of choosing a project, developing up with concepts, and using different electric principles on simple projects was discussed. 55 students actively participated in the introduction session. Dr. B. Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE, and Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE, conducted the session.

ACTIVITIES 2022-23

The MINI PROJECT forum introduction session was organized for second-year EEE students on 27.08 2022. The session highlighted the purpose of the forum and the facilities offered. The topic of selecting a project, coming up with concepts, and applying various electric principles to simple projects continues to be covered. 55 students participated actively in the session. The session was conducted by Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE, and Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

51 second-year students participated in a practical PCB design session using Proteus software on 03.10.2022. A simple circuit was given to the students to start practicing on. Students practised the circuit and finished the PCB design. The session was conducted by Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE, and Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

On 24.09.2022, as a follow-up to the PCB designing session, the students are divided into 13 different batches and assigned mini projects. Each student group selected a simple electronic project, such as a headphone amplifier, water level controller, clap switch, timer, morning alarm, street light controller, multiple power supply, fire alarm, etc. The students started designing PCBs for their projects. Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE, and Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE, conducted the session.

About 50 second-year EEE students completed their projects by designing PCBs, printing layouts, during 01.10.2022, 08.10.2022 and 15.10.2022, 13 batches successfully finished creating their PCB layout assigned. Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE, and Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE, guided the session.

During 12.11.2022, 19.11.2022 and 07.01.2023, around 40 students completed the hands-on workshop for soldering practice. The students participated actively in the session and finished soldering the components for their projects. The finished projects were undergone for the preliminary testing for working. Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE, and Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, handled the session.

ACTIVITIES 2021-22

For second-year EEE students, a MINI PROJECT forum introduction session was held on 19.03.2022. The session covered the forum’s goal and the facilities that were offered. The discussion of choosing a project, coming up with ideas, and using various electric principles in simple projects continues. In the session, 58 students actively participated. Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE and Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE, handled the session.

A Practical session on PCB design using Proteus software was conducted to 55 second-year students On March 02, 2022. The students were assigned a simple circuit to practice on. Students practiced the circuit and completed the PCB design. Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE and Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE, handled the session.

As the continuation of the PCB designing session, students are divided into 16 different batches and assigned for mini projects on 23.04.2022. A headphone amplifier, water level controller, clap switch, timer, morning alarm, street light controller, multiple power supply, fire alarm, etc. were among the simple analogue projects that each group of students chose. For their projects, the students started designing PCBs. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE, and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

About 50 second-year EEE students finished their projects by designing PCBs, printing layouts, and creating boards using an etching and layout out transfer method. 14 batches successfully finished building their hardware on 30.04.2022 and 07.05.2022. The session is handled and guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP (SG)/EEE, and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

During 14.05.2022 and 28.05.2022, around 45 students had a hands-on workshop for soldering practice. The students participated actively in the session and finished soldering the components for their projects. The finished projects were undergone for the preliminary testing. Mr. F. Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE, and Mr. B. Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, handled the practical session.

ACTIVITIES 2020-21

An Introduction class for the MINI PROJECT forum was conducted for the second year EEE Students on 13.02.2021. In the session, the objective of the forum and available facilities was discussed. The session is continued about selecting a project, idea creation, various electric principles applied in simple projects. 62 Students actively participated in two batches. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

A Hands-on Session was given to the 60 second-year students about PCB designing using Proteus software on 20.02.2021. A simple circuit was assigned to the students as common to practice. Students practiced the circuit and completed the PCB design. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

As a continuation of the PCB designing session, students are formed as 21 different batches on 27.02.2021. Each batch of students selected simple analog projects like a headphone amplifier, water level controller, clap switch, timer, morning alarm, street light controller, multiple power supply, fire alarm, etc. The students started PCB designing for their projects. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

Around 60 students of second year EEE completed their projects by PCB designing, layout printing, and board making by layout out transfer and etching process. 18 Batches successfully completed their hardware on 06.03.2021 and 13.03.2021. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

A hand-on session was given to 55 students for soldering practice on 20.03.2021. The students were actively involved in the session and completed the soldering for their projects. An initial level of testing was carried for the completed projects. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

ACTIVITIES 2019-20

An Introduction class for MINI PROJECT forum was conducted for the second year EEE Students on 29.06.2019. A Hands-On Session was given in designing PCB for a Simple Circuit”. 56 Students was participated in the class. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

A Hands-On Session was conducted by the Mini Project Forum in making of simple application oriented projects on 06.07.2019. 46 students were actively participated in doing projects. The session was guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr. F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

ACTIVITIES 2018-19

An Introduction class for MINI PROJECT forum was conducted for the second year EEE Students at Microprocessor and Microcontroller lab on 30.06.2018. A Hands-On Session was given in designing PCB for a Simple Circuit”. 20 Students was participated in the class. The session is handled by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz, AP/EEE.

A Hands-On Session was conducted by the Mini Project Forum in making of simple application oriented projects on 07.07.2018. 24 students were actively participated in doing projects. The session was guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, Ms. K. Gowthami AP/EEE and Mr. F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

Around 20 second year students were participated in doing mini project on 21.07.2018. A simple circuit was given to the students for making the project. The session is guided by Mr. F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE and Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE.

Sessions [21.07.2018, 04.08.2018 and 18.08.2018]
A Simple Application Oriented projects has been assigned to the students those who are attended in the introduction sessions. The students completed the projects like automatic street light control, Mini inverter, Water level controller; IR based remote controlled electrical apparatus etc. on 21.07.2018, 04.08.2018 and 18.08.2018. The students are motivated to do more innovative projects with their ideas. The session was guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr. F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

Sessions [05.01.2019, 19-01-2019, 02-02-2019 and 02-03-2019]
Students are involved in doing projects to present their project in the expo EPROX ‘19. Around 15 batches [45 students] involved in the practical session. The sessions are conducted in the odd Saturdays 05.01.2019, 19-01-2019, 02-02-2019 and 02-03-2019 respectively. The sessions are guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, Mr. F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

Project Expo, “EPROX ‘19” has been organized by the Mini Project Forum of EEE department on 19th March 2019. In this project Expo, 40 Second Year students and 61 Third Year students have actively participated as 32 batches. The project Expo is coordinated by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr. F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

ACTIVITIES 2017-18

A hands on session was conducted on the topic of “Hands on training on PCB designing and implementation” by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr.F.Antony Jeffrey Vaz, AP/EEEat applied electronics Lab of EEE Department on 16-12-2017. Around 46 students of second year EEE was participated in the hands-on session.

The 40 students actively participated in hands on training on ‘making of simple mini projects’ conducted by the Mini Project Forum on 30-12-2017 at Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab. The session was guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

Around 36 students of second year EEE was actively participated to do mini projects and completed some application-oriented on 06-01-2018. The session was guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, Ms. K. Gowthami AP/EEE and Mr. F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

The 35 students of second year EEE has involved in doing mini projects on 03.03.2018at Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab. The session was guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE and Mr.F.Antony Jeffery Vaz AP/EEE.

A Project expo “EPROX ‘18”has been conducted by the Mini Project Forum of EEE department on 17th March 2018.

ACTIVITIES 2016-17

A hands-on session was conducted on the topic of “Hands on training on PCB Designing and implementation” by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE at Seminar hall on 16-07-2016. 44 students were participated in the hands-on session.

A Hands-on session on “simple application oriented circuits” was held on 07-01-2017.Around 30 students of second year EEE was actively participated to do mini projects and completed some application oriented projects.

A hand on session for “Making of some application oriented real-time projects” was held on 18-02-2017. Around 50 students were participated in the session and did some real-time projects.

A Project expo “EPROX ‘17” has been conducted by the Mini Project Forum of EEE department on 10th March 2017.

A hands-on session “PCB designing and preparation by Proteus” conducted by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE, held on 29-08-2015. 70 students were participated in the workshop, hands on session also was conducted to do Printed Circuit Board (PCB) for a simple circuit.

A Hands-on training for “simple application oriented circuits” was held on 19-09-2015. Around 20 students were actively participated to do mini projects on and completed some simple application oriented circuits.

Around 60 students of second year EEE was actively participated to do mini projects and completed some“ Application oriented Real-time Projects” on 10-10-2015.The session was guided by Mr.B.Venkatasamy, AP/EEE.
